Kindness. It’s such a simple concept yet left out of day-to-day life more than most people would like to admit.
NOTE: this is part one of a four part series that will show fun and easy ways to encourage kindness in others throughout the school year.
For many of my teachers, today is the last day of school before Spring Break, a much needed time to relax and reset to be prepared for the haul until the end of the year. Need some tips on how to relax, check out these Seven Ways to Hit Reset in 2017.
Teachers are tired.
Ok, they are beyond tired.
And the students?
They never seem to be tired….just in need of a bit of inspiration as the school year goes on.
This morning I purchased 30 wrapped eggs (in Marvel Comic print, of course) and attached a note to each one:
The note reads: “By taking this egg, you agree to pay it forward by doing something kind for someone else over spring break.”
I placed all the eggs in reasonably obvious locations and waited. It didn’t take long for kids to find the eggs. Some of the comments included:
“I don’t know what it is, it was just sitting there.”
“There’s a note that says if I take this egg, I must do something kind.”
“Candy. Kindness.” (munch, munch, munch)
“Whoa. Weird.”
I don’t know if they will carry out their act of kindness but I do know they read the note.
Considered it…. kindness….even if it was just for a moment.
Kindness conquers all.
